Animal Physiology Sensing Simplified
Developing miniaturised skin-compliant devices to improve data and welfare in animal research.

About Us
Metazoa is a team of engineers and life scientists, who are taking on-skin biosensors to the next level to enable small-animal monitoring. We are developing the first non-invasive, wireless method for monitoring mouse electrocardiography (ECG) and locomotion data, simplifying the collection and analysis of this data for preclinical scientists and physiologists.
Our solution leverages state-of-the-art advances in materials science and flexible electronics manufacturing. Such methods and materials have enabled the creation of skin-compliant systems for humans, which can monitor wearer physiology with minimal inconvenience. For the first time, we are reverse translating this technology, to create a simple solution for monitoring the physiology of freely moving animals.
